Our Anti-Human Trafficking Work

Training and Capacity Building

  • We develop and deliver training programs on human trafficking, forced labour, and responsible business conduct.

  • We’ve trained over 500 lawyers, civil society actors, law enforcement officials, and prosecutors across Asia.

  • We have developed training programs for ASEAN bodies, governments, law enforcement agencies, and civil society groups.

  • Among other things, we have developed a three-part online training program for legal practitioners in Thailand and Bangladesh.

Legal and Policy Reform

  • We advise governments and policymakers on legal and policy reforms to combat human trafficking.

  • Our policy reform work has included developing national referral mechanisms for victims of trafficking, advising on the implementation of victim reflection and recovery periods, developing mechanisms for the protection of child victims of trafficking, and reviewing regional and national counter-trafficking action plans.

  • Our clients and partners include national governments in Asia, ASEAN bodies, and UN agencies.

Research

  • We’ve conducted studies on strategic litigation, mapping populations of migrant workers at risk of trafficking in persons, laws and practices relating to forced labour, the protection of Asian victims of trafficking in Eastern Europe, and victim reflection and recovery period.
