Laura Draper

Senior Counsel

Laura is a UK-qualified lawyer with over 15 years’ experience working on human rights issues, including nearly a decade in Southeast Asia. At The Remedy Project, she draws on her extensive legal and human rights background to contribute to our advisory, analysis, and capacity-building work.

Before joining The Remedy Project, Laura led forced labour due diligence and prevention within HP Inc.’s global human rights team. Prior to that, she worked with organisations including the Public International Law & Policy Group, Justice Base, and the International Senior Lawyers Project, focusing on legal empowerment and human rights issues in Myanmar.

Laura began her career in London, representing survivors of trafficking and other human rights abuses in immigration and public law claims at a leading legal aid firm. She has also worked with the UN Refugee Agency’s Legal Protection team and the International Criminal Court.

Laura holds an LL.M in International Law and Human Rights from the University of Groningen.
